OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Sacred Heart is a family of Catholic disciples imitating the Heart of Jesus to obtain the ultimate goal of heaven. We aspire to serve the parish family and community through faith formation, sacraments & stewardship as we cultivate relationships with God and neighbor.

The summer meal program hosted by the Halstead School District will be held this summer in the parish hall here at Sacred Heart. With the construction at Halstead High School, it is not possible to have the program there this summer. The District asked us to help and we graciously accepted. The Parish Center will be unavailable for use from June 1st thru July 31st. The parish picnic & Totus Tuus will still use the parish hall. Students attending the Totus Tuus program will not need to bring their lunch this year as they will be able to eat lunch thru the summer meal program. The Summer Meal Program is an important part in seeing that our youth have access to meals during the summer.

Thank you for your understanding!

Unveiled Retreat - July 16 - 18, 2026

Registration opened Monday, April 13 at 9:00 AM CT. This is a national event, and couples will be coming from across the country. We are hoping for a strong response from couples within our own diocese—and that depends in large part on parish promotion, especially your encouragement.

The retreat will be led by Dr. Bob Schuchts and his daughter, Carrie Schuchts Daunt. Dr. Schuchts is a renowned Catholic therapist and founder of the John Paul II Healing Center, who has helped thousands of individuals and couples experience healing and deeper freedom through a Christ-centered approach to the human heart. Alongside him, Carrie brings both professional expertise and a relatable, engaging presence, helping couples apply these truths in practical ways.

Together, they offer a powerful combination of wisdom, authenticity, and hope for couples seeking greater unity, healing, and intimacy in their marriage. For more information on the retreat go to the John Paul II Healing Center homepage.

Thank you for your continued support of marriage ministry in your parish. As always, please let me know if there is anything we can do to assist you.

In Christ,

The theme for the diocese stewardship effort this year is "Given." The focus is on what Christ has given us, which is the Eucharist. He gave everything for us! Isn't the least we can do is to give back to him whatever we can? The diocese definition of stewardship is: "Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes & receives God's gifts & shares these gifts in love of God & neighbor." So what can we give back to Christ? Our gifts. We all have them, but sometimes we need help identifying them or knowing what to do with them. This year we are giving every parishioner the opportunity to use the "Gifted to Serve" tool to help with seeing what gifts they have & how they can be used at Sacred Heart. This is totally voluntary & you do not have to share the results if you don't want to.
